The HSP admission procedures are in alignment with the admission of KCKCC based on HLC and KBOR guidelines. High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible for the concurrent and/or dual enrollment programs. First-year students may be enrolled if they meet the criteria for gifted students. The college strongly recommends that high school students limit their enrollment to 12 credit hours per semester.

Students enrolling in over 12 credits should submit an overload letter to The High School Partnership Program for review and approval. Please email your overload letters to academichsp@kss-mining.com.

Admissions Guidelines

  • A student must consult with their high school guidance counselor to determine eligibility to enroll in courses at KCKCC while attending high school.
  • Complete an application and be admitted to KCKCC.
  • Complete placement testing, if required, or meet multiple measures exemptions.
  • Submit Dual/Concurrent Enrollment Form to academichsp@kss-mining.com
  • Tuition is due before a student can enroll for the next semester. Tuition for yearlong classes is paid in the fall semester.
  • If tuition is not paid, a hold is placed on the student's account and the student will not be eligible for enrollment until the bill has been paid.
  • Upon high school graduation, the student must submit their official transcript to the KCKCC Registrar's Office.

How to Apply

  1. Complete an electronic application at xsawob.kss-mining.com.
    • Check the correct student type (High School Dual/Concurrent Student)
    • Verify the student’s date of birth.
    • KCKCC ID numbers are sent by email after students apply. Make sure students check in their spam folder if not received.
    • Only Submit one application.
    • If a student did not enroll within 3 semesters of applying, they must submit a new application.
    • All questions on the application are necessary as KCKCC prepares state reports for KBOR and information may also impact billing.
    • When possible, have students submit their SSN.
    • Common error areas: DOB, address, citizenship, and email address.
  2. Schedule the Accuplacer Test.
  3. 3. Students can also meet the multi-measure criteria. The multiple measures criteria can be found in the resource section of this handbook.
