You need to complete the FAFSA every year that you want to be considered for financial aid.
The 2023-24 FAFSA is used for the spring 2024 and summer 2024 semesters. For the 2023-24 FAFSA, you will use your 2021 income information on the application.
The 2024-25 FAFSA, will be used for the fall 2024, spring 2025 and summer 2025 semesters. For the 2024-25 FAFSA, you will use your 2022 income information on the application.

To avoid delays, create your Studentaid.gov account (FSA ID) at least 2-3 days prior to completing the FAFSA form. You can create your FSA ID here: Create Account | Federal Student Aid .
Beginning in the 2024-25 award year, everyone contributing to the FAFSA form online must have their own StudentAId.gov account or FSA ID. Please keep this information in a safe place so that you can refer to it each time you complete a FAFSA form. Remember the FAFSA form must be completed on an annual basis if you plan to apply for federal student aid. For additional information how to get your StudentAid.gov account or FSA ID set up visit:
The username and password for both StudentAid.gov and FSA ID should be the same. The terminology has been updated between the 2023-24 FAFSA year and the 2024-25 FAFSA year.
If your parent is required to provide information on the 2024-25 FAFSA form, they will need a FSA ID, even if they do not have a social security number. What Happens After Submitting Your FAFSA® Form? (youtube.com)
After the FAFSA, you should:
**Review your FAFSA Submission Summary sent to you by Federal Student Aid
**Review your KCKCC Financial Aid Page on Self Service to determine next steps at KCKCC
**Respond promptly to requests for additional information from the KCKCC Financial Aid Office
**Monitor your KCKCC Student Email account frequently for updates
