Virtually every student at Kansas City Kansas Community College takes courses in the division of Arts, Communications & Humanities as we provide instructions and experience in skills that are critical to every education and career path. There are opportunities for those who wish to create through the performing and visual arts; to improve communication in spoken, written and digital media; and to examine the range and depth of human thought. Our division houses a long record of developing insight and understanding as evidenced by our students’ and faculty’s national titles, recognitions, valuable internships, and other enhancements. Financial incentives are available to assist you in achieving your goals through scholarships and performance grants.

The division offers degrees in the following areas of study: Audio Engineering, preparing our students for entry level positions in the varied fields of the audio industry and/or to enable them to transfer to a four-year degree in a related field; Digital Imaging Design, designed to prepare students for careers in the field of computer-based graphic design; Music, designed for students planning to complete a bachelor’s degree in music or a music-related education; Studio Arts, with a curriculum that parallels the foundational courses in other art college and/or programs in four-year colleges; and Theatre, where students are assured performance opportunities each semester during the two-year program.

Other degree opportunities include History, where students become acquainted with an array of peoples, time periods and regions as well as Philosophy, where students will examine issues concerning the nature of the human person, justice, the possibility of the existence of God and human freedom and, above all, the question of knowledge and truth.
